Actual painting itself measures 29 1/4" x 23 1/4". Paint is in very good condition, the colors are beautiful and vibrant. No chipping, cracks, or punctures. Chandler began painting in watercolor at a very early age.
By 1930 he was exhibiting his work locally. His earliest teachers were Otto Schneider and Pauline DeVol at the San Diego Academy of Fine Arts. He later studied at the Otis Art Institute and in New York City at the Art Student's League. For a while he headed the Desert Sun School in Idyllwild, California.He also taught art at San Diego Community College for many years. His works were exhibited widely throughout San Diego and Southern California. They are held in the Jerome, Arizona Historical Society, and once featured in Arizona Highways Magazine. Floyd Copeland Chandler died in San Diego, California on November 14, 1995. A majority of our items, if not all, are vintage/antique.
