Griffins are medieval, legendary animals with the body of a lion and head, and wings of an eagle. They were seen as majestic guardians of treasure and a symbol of the divine. Well excuted detailed piece of impressive size with a expressive, open-mouthed face.

Maker's mark, and date (in Roman numerals) impressed on the underside. This impresive planter would make a perfect and whimsi centerpiece to any room.
