This is a Memorandum Book from the Floyd County Kentucky Circuit Court, beginning in November, 1836. Mayo was the clerk, with James Harris, Esq. The book is a handwritten listing of cases heard by the Court with names of plaintiffs and defendants and dates. Also included are ephemera, including a handwritten poem signed M.Mayo, printed speech by Hon. David Clopton of Alabama in 1860, various period newspaper clippings, and a letter of provenance dated 1918 indicating the book was found in 1904 in Prestonsburg. This would be a valuable book for anyone interested in Floyd County history or genealogy.
